The Malawi Human Rights Youth Network (MHRYN) conducted PET sessions in Thyolo from 29 August to 3 September 2016. These PET sessions took place in all the 6 wards (Thava, Dzimbiri, Mikolongwe, Makungwa, Nchima and Khonjeni).
The PET sessions tracked resources that were allocated to the Education sector in the wards.
The sessions were a success because the youth were able to track how the resources have been used in their community project initiatives. The youth discovered that there was lack of communication between the duty bearers (in this case the assembly, project committees) and the entire community. The Ward accountability clubs have agreed to work hand in hand with their duty bearers to ensure that the project initiatives in their communities be completed.
